Kitchen Remodel-Phase 1

Oh my!!! I think I am ready to post some pics of the kitchen. Keep in mind this was not a "total" remodel, just some minor things changed to update it. It seems like we have been working on it FOREVER!!! Well we kind of have been, just been doing what  we could afford and we were at my dad's mercy too...I am the master mind behind these projects, but my dad is the handy man! So anyways here we go.....
The kitchen was not "terrible" I guess, which ended up being a good thing, because we kept our cabinets. Notice the drop ceiling....

Really these pics make these cabinets look darker then they are, they were just oak cabinets.

Notice the pretty grape wallpaper!!

And now here she is today!!!! :)))

Drop ceiling is gone, replaced with can lights and a chandy over the sink.

The cabinets have been stained dark, new crown molding on the cabinets and around the ceiling.

For now I no new cabinet tops.... :(((
Bad economy for dump trucking, and momma would rather keep the laminate then go back to work!!!

New crystan chandy over the sink, so pretty!!!

New wood hood over the microwave.

The cabinets are darker then the pics. Eric stained the cabinets, and I must say he did excellent!

Better view of hood.

Here is the top of my ugly cream fridge, hopefully we can get a new one soon!

Here is the ugly front door in the "kitchen", who does that???

Here it is now, painted black, much better, eventually I want french doors, but did I mention I am on a budget! Ha!

Here is the wall that was between the living room and kitchen with our drive through window.

And here it is now, gone.... much better!!! There is a new chandy over the table too, love it!! And you get a sneak peek of my tree too, I will do a tour later on that.

A little tablescape just for pics, the kids do sit here and eat breakfast.

Here is the view looking from the living room side before.

And here it is now, so much more open now.

So there she is, a budget friendly makeover. Removed ceiling, replaced lights, stained cabinets, added crown molding, new hardware, and some paint!!! Oh, and some removal of walls, we are getting good at that here!!!

I am very happy with the results of it. I know when we get to replace the cabinet tops it will be the icing on the cake, but for now she is going to stay this way, except for a few minor tweaks.

Now I am off to do some more Christmas decorating, seems I am going to have a party at my house for some really great girls next week!!!

  1. Great job, awesome. Wow!! We seriously could go into business here. People have a lot of income here but don't seem to know how to decorate. You are really good! you love lamps, how many in that kitchen,LOL (: I love the rug in your kitchen, where did you get that? I am looking for some small rugs and a bigger one. I found some at Pottery Barn but don't want to pay all of that money. I miss southern girls decorating. Styles are so different here, not good (: some people are but most of the stuff here is mondern, blah!! Great job!!
